Quote of the holiday weekend...
After explaining to Parker that Daddy had off today b/c it's Memorial day, he looked at me and asked. "Do I get gifts on Memory Day or no?"

double "parking"
Today we spent the morning had the playground with some friends. While we were there, a little girl probably around 2 years old was leaving with her mom. As they were walking by us we overheard the mom tell the crying girl, "Don't be sad... wave bye-bye park. See you another day." The little girl starts frantically waving and saying "Bye bye park... Bye bye park. See you." Parker right away looks over at the sound of his name and goes, "Byeee wittle girl. Bye." Then he turns to me and goes, "Mom, I don't know her name but she's weally nice."

Drop your pants
Today we did a little Spring clothes shopping with my sister. Since the dressing rooms were kind of small for me and both kids, Lauren told Parker he could come in with her. As we are trying on stuff, I overhear Parker say, "Lahlah, you need a bigger size in your pants. Those are too small. Your legs are going to get cold." Thinking he was unintentionally insulting her, I had to laugh when she showed me the capris she was trying on.

Fruit of the Spirit
On Saturday, Trev and Parker had a "guy day" to go buy my gift. As they were getting ready I hear Trevis ask Parker "What do you think we should give Mommy for Mother's day?" Parker replies, "Ooh... we have to get her a watermelon!". That night after we got Parker to bed, I jokingly asked Trev about wrapping my watermelon and he tells me that while they were walking around the store he asked Parker what else I might like besides a watermelon to which Parker replies, "Ooohhh Dad, a bag of oranges!!!! Mom would really love that!"
Not sure what the produce theme is about but he knows me well... I'll give him that.

For the love of Lillie
Having to take both kids to the doctor by myself is no small task. Lillie usually starts panicking and hyperventilating as soon as we walk into the waitroom. Parker usually waits to freak out until they ask him to stand on the scale. This morning however, they were both so sick they weren't their usual anxious selves. When the doctor came into the room and saw that both kids were sick she asked Parker if he would like to be the brave big brother and go first. I guess he had this already planned out in his little head b/c he turned to Lillie and said, "Um... well I love you Lillie sooo soooo much so you can go first. Go ahead Lillie. I hold your hand and kiss you. Datta girl Lillie. You are sooo brave Lillie."
By the way, she didn't fall for it and and started screaming the minute the doctor looked toward her.

Sickies!
So, we are on our 6th day with the flu around here! Just when I thought maybe it was getting better for the kids, Parker woke up during the night with a terrible earache and fever warranting a doctors visit. For most of night he cried and was in a lot of pain so this morning when he woke up I explained that since this was his 6th day of being sick I think it would be a good idea to go to the doctor and have him and Lillie checked out. To which he replied, "Mom, do you think God made medicine on the 6th day? I weally weally hope He did. Do you know Mom?"

Anger management
Tonite, while playing a Finding Nemo Memory game together Trevis was telling Parker the name of each character... "Bloat", "Dory", "Peach" etc... when he described the character "Anchor" Parker interrupts and says, "Dad, what's he mad about?"
