The final word...

Yesterday at the waterpark, a little boy probably around 8 yrs old started bossing Lillie around telling her to "do this" and "do that". I guess Lillie finally had enough and turned to him and said, "I don't have to! You are NOT my brother!"

Legos 101

I was helping Lillie build a really tall Lego tower. As it got higher and higher she got more excited about it. When it was completed, she looked at me and asked, "Mommy, did you learn how to do that in college?"

"Blueberry"

For 5 years, Parker has had a 26 cent Walmart goldfish for a pet. He has faithfully turned on his light every morning, fed it 8 pellets everyday, kept it's tank clean and been a good roomate to "Goldie". So, for kindergarten graduation we told him he could pick out a new pet since he demonstrated such maturity and responsibility this past year. At first he was very gung-ho on a hermit crab and we thought that would be the pet of choice but in recent weeks he became increasingly interested in getting a bird. Then by coincidence my mom got 2 baby parakeets which peaked an even higher interest. Well, this morning we embarked on a journey to Petsmart and bought a cute little blue parakeet. The kids are smitten and I even think the bird kinda likes us;-)

SIDENOTE: While we were out buying the bird, Parker lost a
3rd tooth... This time he has an empty space to show for it!

Aunt Margaret, this one's for you!

This morning the kids were playing a game where Lillie was a baby bird and Parker was going to hunt food and feed it to her. As she sat in her "nest" Parker said to her, "Ok Lils, you are the baby and I am the male and I am going to get you some worms." Lillie then adamantly says, "NO Parkerrrr!! I don't want to play mailman. I want to play daddy bird!" Parker starts cracking up and says, "Lillie you're thinking of the wrong diagraph!"

Firehouse Fieldtrip

Lillie had an end of school year fieldtrip to the firehouse. We have done this every year for the past 3 years and they still LOVE LOVE LOVE going! Always something exciting to learn about at the firehouse!

Lillie's Preschool Program

Lillie had her preschool program last week. As part of the program, the kids had to create a community service person they would like to be. Lillie really really really wanted to be a mommy but that didn't exactly qualify so we were able to talk her into her second choice: A lifeguard!
