As I get further along in this pregnancy and my stomach is beginning to grow a bit, Parker is starting to take notice. It's very funny to watch him try and understand and figure out what exactly is happening to me and why he has been banned from jumping on mommy or laying on my lap. Early on he would go up to random people like a 60 year old grandmother or a balding middle age man and pat their tummy and say "Bee bee (baby)". After several times of explaining that just mommy has the baby he stopped doing that.
His latest thing is to unzip my jacket half way and whisper "Hi beebee"and give my belly a kiss. Then he zips it back up and says "night night beebee" and goes on doing whatever it is that he was doing. It's very cute and make me think he will be a VERY sweet big brother.
This morning Parker dropped a toy underneath the car and he couldn't reach it. As I was retrieving it I forgot that my growing belly was in the way and accidentally squished the baby. She let me know with a nice left jab that I immediately returned with a rather loud and startling yelp. Parker looked at me kind of scared and I explained to him that the baby had kicked me and that mommy was okay. Just suprised. I could see him thinking about it and then he giggled and went on his way. A few minutes later when we were back in the house I was unloading the dishwasher and I hear Parker give a little scream. I look over and ask him what's wrong and he goes, "Beebee OUCH!" and then rubs his tummy. I asked him if the baby kicked him and he said "yeah" and then he giggled and ran off.
Little does he know but that little baby is going to change his life in MANY ways... Hope he's ready:)
