We were blessed and privileged to have our best friend's little girl, Jovey, stay with us for several days. I say blessed because Jovey is the most colorful and brightest 2 year old I have ever met. She lit up our already cheerful and playful house with even more laughter and creativity (hence, the cool outfits that we picked Parker up from school wearing)! I have blogged before about how Parker adores her and has wished for her to be his wife and his sister and now apparently I have some more explaining to do to him. We have close friends who are adopting a baby from Africa. I explained to Parker what adoption was and how it works (in the simplest preschool way I could). Anyway, I guess he only grasped some of the concept b/c as we were getting ready for school, he asked me what Lillie and I were going to do while he was gone. I told him I needed to run some errands and then we would probably go home and play. To which he said, "Oh do you think you can run an errand for me, Mom?" Slightly surprised by the request, I said sure and asked what he wanted me to do. His reply, "I want you to go take a trip to Jovey's house and go adopt her." I explained to him that adoption is for kids who don't have a Mommy and Daddy of their own and that Josh and Lela were Jovey's parents and they loved her a lot. His answer was, "Yea... but... I love her and she needs a brother named Parker."
Don't we all... Don't we all?

First off, I love how awesome, kind and loving you are to my Jovey Kay! She does "add color" to everyone's life she touches (whether it be a nice, baby blue or crazy bright fuschia!) and it's always nice to see that other people feel it too!
Secondly, I love how Parker loves Jovey so much. It is such an innocent and sincere love and Jovey returns it so willingly, ever since she learned who he was, and I mean, who wouldn't! He's a wonderful boy!
I am SO glad that we have these memories as their parents and the knowledge that they each will be special, even if it is a small way in their memories as well, to each other through their growing bonds as friends! I love Jovey, Parker, Lillie and our soon to be new girl addition. It's a blessing to watch them play and grow together.
I know leaving her was the hardest thing you and Josh have ever done, but I am sooo thankful you did! We all are! I think you guys need to go away more often:)
Lela, your friendship warms my heart and it is one of the most awesome blessings I have ever been given!Don't EVER forget it!
Thanks for sharing everything with us(clothes, food, play-doh toys, DVD's...) and now we can even add kids to that list!
