Gonna get a whoopin...

We often joke that even though Parker was born in KY and has lived here all his life (so far) he has very little redneck in him (hopefully it will stay that way). With Trev from MI and me from NY he has a northern sense about him and even his verbage (he says dog(dawg) and coffee (cawfee) like me:) Which just makes this afternoon's conversation so funny.

We were playing Playdoh and making pretend birthday cakes... when I asked him what was on his he answered, "Well, I decorated it with a cherry and some icing and oh, I put a whole lot of Whoop Cream on it! I just love Whoop Cream!!!"

Ha! Love it! Yeah, I'm afraid that Jovey is our little hick for sure. She loves to have a great twang with most words she uses, thanks to me, mostly, I'm sure! Ha!

And Parker, I love me some Whoop cream too, but believe it or not, I do say "Whipped"!

Woop cream is a favorite of mine- I could eat it by the bowl full. There is nothing wrong with soundin like you are from Kentucky :) As long as you don't start saying things like warsh for wash and up "er. Then we will need to take Parker up north for awhile. my sister lost her kentucky accent after being in Cinci for a few years!

He needs a little southern accent so he can understand his southern cousins because believe me, my kids sound more Southern than I ever expected, or intended. I've even cought myself saying "fixing to" which is my absolute least favorite southern phrase! Oh well, if you can't (or don't want to) leave, you may as well join them!!
