One of the greatest joys for Trev and I as parents is watching Parker understand a little more of who Jesus is and what exactly it is He does. Part of this process has been imitating us pray and adding his own touch.
Every night before bed we have always prayed with with him and in our prayers have thanked God for "Mommy", "Daddy", "Parker" and in the last few months we have added "Baby". Well, Parker has gotten the hang of this prayer and likes it a lot and prays it pretty consistently. He goes through his little routine and usually thanks God for Daddy 2 or 3 times and Mommy a few times and Parker ("Darter") a bunch of times and Baby and closes with "Meemen" (amen). Well one night while he was praying he did his thing "Daddy, Mommy, Daddy, Parker, Daddy, baby, Parker, Mommy.... Elmooooooooo!!!! Meemen". Little did we know but we had a 5th member of our family who just happened to be a little red monster. We are more than glad to have adopted Elmo into our family and we just found it funny (and sweet) that Parker thought it as easy as a prayer to have him join. No papers to fill out, no interviews, no redtape. Just a prayer and Elmo was a Willis. Already at the young age of 2, Parker is discovering the concept of God's family and how easy it is to be part of it and how welcoming He is!!!
