So, Parker has started this thing where he spits on the living room carpet. At first I thought it was random spitting and I sat him down and explained we don't spit in the house. His response was. "Dad spptt!!!". He has seen Trev spit his gum out the car window so I thought maybe he was imitating this kind of gross habit. He didn't spit again and so I left it at that. Well, this morning we are throwing the football around the livingroom and out of nowhere he starts spitting again on the carpet. I stop what we are doing and tell him that we don't spit in the house. He then says, "Dad... ball... arggghhhh" and spits. IT ALL CAME TOGETHER!!! He was imitating the wonderful U of M football players that he and Dad watch on Saturdays. It took everything i had not to burst out laughing. Instead I explained that spitting is kind of yucky and unless he is brushing his teeth or mommy and daddy tell him to spit something out, food and spit really needs to stay in his mouth.
Sooooo... we go to the mall this afternoon and on our way out this guy spit in the parking lot as we walk pass him. You can guess what's coming...
Parker says rather loudly, "Ugh! NO! Mom and Dad NO!" and then makes this gross spitting sound. The things they remember. We definitely don't give them credit often enough for their smart little brains and the way they work:)
