High (and Dirty) Aspirations

Parker wants to be a garbage man. No, actually he thinks he IS a garbage man. He throws all 6 of our little bedroom and bathroom garbage cans around our house like our garbage guy does on Fridays with our cans. He empties one garbage into the other and amuses himself for long periods of time thinking he is being the most productive boy on earth. All day long I hear "toot toot" and see random pieces of paper and tissue being thrown all over my otherwise clean house.

I made the mistake ONE time of following a green garbage truck around town. We were out running errands and I thought it would be fun for him if we followed the truck. It was pretty cool, then... we saw one on the highway, going in the opposite direction. Then we saw one in the Kroger shopping lot and then there was the white one in Louisville and the yellow one in NY. He thinks we can follow every truck and go where they go and if we don't, he gets quite upset. Oh, and tragedy on earth if we have to go somewhere on Friday morning before our garbage truck arrives. Parker sits at our front window with his little face pressed against the glass making smudge marks until they come. Then, he frantically blows the tatooed guy with the bandana kisses (LOL:) He thinks the man is awesome. Right up there with Dad and Elmo!

We drive around town and see garbage cans laying in the street and in peoples front yards. Parker asks if we can help them clean up their cans. When we were in NY a little while back my dad and him walked around the neighborhood picking up peoples garbage cans. Parker loved this Good Samaritan task and now when we go into the post office, Walmart, and the doctor's office he takes it upon himself to drag the cans around trying to find a place to dump the garbage!

I asked him if maybe he wanted to be a fireman or a doctor. His response was a definite "NO!" and then "toot toot" and off he went flinging my garbage cans around the livingroom.

Little boys are soooo much fun.
